Replacing - Octavia Wiper Motor Rear

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Need you suggestion as I am not sure about cars/motors.

Seems my  SKODA OCTAVIA ELEGANCE TDI 5 DOOR HATCHBACK 1968CC (BEIGE/BUFF) (2005) DIESEL AUTO rear wiper motor not working.

Is it good to buy new OR used?

New one costs £58.20 and used £35.00 (3 months warranty).

Which one is ideal?

Kindly also let me know any good place to buy motor other than Euro car parts.

Thanks.

Naresh.

For the sake of £23 I'd go new.

The rear wiper motors are renowned for being a weak point on the MkII Octavia, there is every chance a used one is well on the way to suffering the same fate as the original.

Hi Mike,

As you suggested, I brought wiper motor from Eurocarparts. Surprisingly during change of rear wiper, found that Book lock failed/not working properly.

Not sure do I needs to replace it or not? Reapirer said get one from ebay and fix it.

Thanks.
