Ive had a cctv system for some time.

and just wandering if i can change the settings to get the most out of it.

Its a Robox Barracuda 

ive had it a few years now,been great no faults.

 

Ive just bought a new camera and it isnt much good.the company have said i need to upgrade my DVR.

All my other cameras are 700tvl new is 1200tvl...suppose to be.

 

I know to get to notch id have to pay ££££'s 

 

I have all dome cameras more discreet i think.

Ive got a good rough idear on certain things.ive installed it all myself ect.

Looking at the specs on your DVR it is only recording at D1 resolution which is 576 TVL. As your new camera is 1200TVL I would guess there is a considerable amount of downscaling going on somewhere which is probably the reason for the poor quality video. If possible I would look at settings for your new camera and see if its possible to run it at a lower resolution - the closer to 720x576 the better, as this is what the DVR is running at.
