New phone/Smartlink

Featured Replies

Anyone got a Sony z5 mobile phone working with smartlink?

Due an upgrade tempted by this phone. I see the older z3 is compatible and ppl say it has worked... Just wanted to see if the newer one is ok too before I purchase.

Cheers

Hello there.

A Z5 will connect to smartlink without any problem as it runs android 5.0 lollipop straight out the box. All you have to do is install the 'android auto' app then connect your device via the usb port in your car. It won't connect with mirrorlink however.

The majority of the time (I say that because some things never work for some people) but as long as the device has Android 5.0 and above, regardless of your model/make, it should work just fine. That's the genius of Android Auto!

Well, my w16-build has got the unique MissingLink!

Doesn't work with AnyPhone in any weather! :D
