Spec differences

Featured Replies

Apologies if this is already answered but i'm struggling to find on here or in the world of google the "default" specs of an SE v's an Elegance trim Octavia hatch (circa 14 plate).

The obvious differences appear to be the seat coverings, nav and Alloy sizes but after that it becomes a big bag of vaguery.

Most adverts don't tell you the exact spec of the cars on offer, just the "highlights", and the dealers i've spoken to just read from the current brochure (which is unhelpful as the elegance no longer exists and i've no idea if the SE base spec has changed when they introduced the "L" and "Business" variants).

As each car i've looked at seems to miss / add features i'm unsure what is standard and what someone has paid extra for.

Does anyone have alink to the original side by side specs of the cars?

cheers,

-

Richard

If this helps, it's pretty much the same as SE-L (MY16 equivalent) apart from the following:

Elegance has 17" wheels instead of 16" (can't remember their name)

4 Spoke wheel MFSW, not 3 spoke

No front assist

Slightly smaller screen and lower resolution Amundsen, but still has Nav.

Thanks for that.

Helpful in regard to elegance / se-l.

Is it reasonable to assume the se of 2014 is also the same as the se of my16 then?

I've got an old brochure or two I can email across

The Elegance has the following over an SE....

17" Teron wheels (16's on SE)

Auto folding mirrors with puddle lighting (not available on SE)

Intelligent light assist (rain/light sensor/auto dimming rear view mirror/high beam assist - optional on SE...late SE's now have rain/light sensor and manual rear mirror)

Headlamp washers with low fluid warning (optional on SE)

Cruise Control (earlier SE's optional)

Front armrest (earlier SE's optional)

Leather/Alcantara trim (cloth on SE)

Amundsen sat nav (Bolero on SE)

Colour Maxidot (B&W Maxidot on SE)

Multifunction steering wheel (typically not standard on SE though 3 spoke MFSW's were fitted as standard to a batch of earlier SE's by accident)

Front assist (only on some v early and post MY15 cars - my 2014 doesnt have it)

I think thats about it.

+1 Pipsyp

Forgive my forum naivety but does this mean:

a. this is what you would have said

b. you wholeheartedly support his comprehensive reply

c. you want to take him as a guest somewhere...

d. any combination of the above?

I did have to have "FTW" explained to me once and am still none the wiser, and as for "LOL", well I've tried a subtle guffaw at various levels of intensity (though always in private to avoid embarrassment) but have yet to realistically consider its ubiquity other than perhaps by Messrs Beavis and Butthead.

Any non-mathematical explanation of the term "+1" gratefully received.

+1 means he agrees with what was said as well, sort of like "i go along with all of that".

"I concur"

Thanks. Thought it was along those lines. Wasn't quite sure if Pipsyp's reply was effectively quoted from a brochure in which case it would be impossible to disagree with.

Assuming that, it had me doubting my own understanding of what I thought "+1" meant.

Still don't get LOL though. Nobody normally laughs that readily do they? No need to answer BTW (as I believe they say). ;)

Thanks for the kind offer of old brochures zoidberg but it would appear pipsyp has given me the details i was after.

An SE with a few of those options specifed would cover what i want. However i suspect that might be harder to find than a suitable elegance model.

Defo, much easier to find a standard Elegance than a spec'd SE....price wise used there really isnt alot in it either.

Probably things on the Elegance you dont "need" per-se but it is an all round nice standard spec.
