Cg Motorsport clutches?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Has anyone had any experiences with cg Motorsport clutches. I have a sneaky suspicious my dmf is causing some of the issues I'm having.

I've been looking at this one

http://www.clutch-specialists.co.uk/cg-motorsport-666-series-clutch-kit-with-solid-mass-flywheel_p31004278.htm

It's a smf, which I know an cause chatter but I'm not that fussed as the car isnt exactly commuter friendly as it is lol.

Cheers guys.

Sounds like it's going to have a heavy clutch pedal!

Danny Sayers has a cg Motorsport clutch. If he's not on here too much he will be on Facebook

I already have a very heavy clutch pedal lol. I normally try and put my foot through the bulkhead on cars with normal clutches now haha.

I'm here!!

Personally I can't fault the clutch/smf. The chatter is loud though. I know you said you don't mind. I said the same. A year and a bit later it's a tad annoying. Although it did get a bit quieter since having my LSD fitted.

I have the dual friction clutch kit, i got that purely because the cars a daily and didn't want a paddle clutch.

After seeing that link I may go for that, as after running just over 250bhp and many torques the clutch isn't a fan of it.

I'd highly advise calling them instead of ordering on their website, because I got a better deal that way. Just over £90 off of the web price.

Gee didn't long have the clutch fitted before you bought it. Are you sure it's dmf related? I'm quite sure it was not long before the November track day last year.

Thanks for the info. Well I'm getting a loud grumbling noise at biting point.

I've had everything inside the gearbox changed as amd messed up big time fitting the diff. The clutch has been checked for play and it's all good but it's a feeling I have as the noise is coming from that area.

Unit 18 did say the part number on the sachs dmf is one they've never seen before so that a bit odd.

Noise had gone when I picked the car up but now it's back. So I'm off to unit 18 and we're going to spend the day to try and get to the bottom of it.

It's probably best to get the dmf out and have a look at it and see if there's any excessive movement in it. If you're not bothered about the smf chatter you may as well fit one.

Was meant to say clutch and dmf had been check for excess movement and nothing was found. The noise gets worse after a few miles of driving which is why I think it's clutch related

Still we shall see what unit 18 say on Friday.

Thanks for the help and advice on the cg clutch.
