Insurance

Featured Replies

I'm just pricing my insurance up and i have noticed that if i untick legal protection it comes down a lot

does anyone recommend leaving it ticked or shall i remove it?

pros and cons please :)

Pro - If you need legal expenses, it'll pay for a lot/all of them.

Con - How often have you needed legal expenses so far in your driving career? And do you have a bank account/house insurance which already includes some form of legal protection? Well worth checking...

Rob.

I have always opted for legal expenses cover. In my case this covers you for legal costs relating to:

* the pursuit of civil claims arising from an incident involving your motor vehicle which results in the death or personal injury of you, any authorised driver or passenger.

* the defence of motoring prosecutions arising from the use of your motor vehicle.

I've used them once but that was in a major accident with a police car. thats why i am kind of cautios about removing it. It saves about £40 if i remove it but i'm trying to weigh up the cost of piece of mind :).

I think i might keep it then as i live with my parents so the house insurance isnt technically mine to be claiming off for legal.
