Dodo Juice Supernatural Hybrid Nano

Featured Replies

I got around to giving my new wax, DJSNHN, a go.

So I got the car washed and clayed then wiped down with Envy Car Care Filler Killer which is a great product for a pre wax wipe down. Now, there was no polishing stage as this was done in August, but I would imagine that there will be some minor swirling due to washing. The reason I haven't polished is two fold. I don't have time at the moment and I want to see how this product fills swirls.

Opening the wax I didn't take a whiff as DJ say not to and their supernatural range are scent and colour free. But there was a hard layer of wax at the top that needs to be removed. This is weird and I'm not a fan as I wasted a lot of product. To me, I feel like they've released it too early and should have sorted this prior to release but that's my opinion.

The products were lined up and I was ready to go. The conditions were damp and not ideal, but time is ticking on and the car really needed some protection laying down. The application was a breeze and because of the waxs hard texture, getting a nice thin layer with the AP wax applicator was easy. Curing can be an issue as if you leave it too long it can be a mare to remove, so I started my first layer with doing only the bonnet before removing. As I got on to my second layer, I was more confident and I did half the car and it was easy to remove. So two layers later and the finish is great!! I'm made up with the finish, honestly. It is certainly a show wax finish, and if the durability lives up to the hype, it will be awesome.

So to summarise, finish is excellent, application is fine, durability TBC, but scraping the top layer of the wax off? I'm very disappointed from that point of view. I feel like I've thrown a few quid down the plug hole. Apologies for the pics as they're taken on my phone and they're pretty rubbish, but we can't have a review without some finished shots!

Starting to rain now so beading shots to follow.

Looks cracking that mate! Thanks for the review.

The top layer does sound a bit useless if I'm honest. Glad you found it easy to use once the top layer was removed.

Looking forward to the beading & durability!

Thanks Karl. Not the prep I would endorse but it's looking surprisingly great. The sun will show the true results.

It's very strange, that top layer, kind of spoiled it for me. But I'm hoping it won't need scraping next time. I might put it in a airtight tupperware box to see if that helps!

I tend to keep my waxes inside now with the weather like this as they can harden up the top layer and waste a bit as you say.

Sounds daft but I wonder if it was like that to stop it drying out with it been a hybrid wax... never used hybrid as yet so just a shot in the dark. :)

It's a known issue with it, Karl. My old Supernatural Hybrid didn't do it. Dodo Juice are trying to sort the issue out and will hopefully get it sorted soon. Only problem is they don't let you know when they've tweaked the formula so you don't know whether you have V1 or V2.

Will do pal. Thanks for the recommendation on the AP Wax Applicator System; it's awesome!!!!! Really appreciaye your views on these matters.

I've made sure the paint is squeaky clean with the FillerKiller that Ben kindly sent me which is great!!! (I'll be getting more of that for certain. Not offensive in any way and leaves a great base.) So I should get decent durability from SNHN.

Looks good Neil. Be interested to see how you get on in terms of durability. Is the applicator an Auto Perfection one?

Im looking forward to seeing how it holds up too. At the minute, I don't feel it is worth the premium over Supernatural Hybrid, but time will tell!

Yes, Andy, its the AP one. Great bit of kit, wouldn't be without one now! Makes waxing very enjoyable with no hand ache.

I treated the Superb to some Dodo Juice Lime Prime the other week, but rushed it and left some slight buffer trails! So broke out the Prima Amigo and gave the car a layer of Supernatural Hybrid Nano. The car looks great now, especially in the sun. And it is certainly very durable, we didn't have the worst winter and the wax easily saw me through to April! Here's a few new pics of the Superb
