  • I got my vent trims finished yesterday. Here's a picture of the centre one. It looks darker in the car and the red tinge to it looks good when the light catches it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapat

  • I've done it and the "special" tools mentioned are just long pins. It can be done easily if you got the patience.  http://workshop-manuals.com/skoda/fabia-mk2/heating_ventilation_air_conditioning_sys

That looks great!

What is it finished with? just paint, or?

Also, how did you find removing the centre vent? i've heard it can be a PITA?

Thanks very much.

It's had a coat of lacquer put on top as well.

The vent was easier than I thought. It ended up with just the front part coming off. I tried to remove the complete unit but it separated which made it easier!

Here's the link to how to do it properly. You never know, you might get lucky and it separates like mine!

did you sand it off first then? Mine looks abit rougher to the touch then yours?

oh god i so want mine to separate on its own. :D

Cheers! :)

Tbh I cheated and got a painter in the bodyshop at work to do it but yes he did rub it down first to key it, then he primed it before painting. The primer is what will have smoothed it out.

On your second picture above what lights are we seeing? The beam looks extremely short and close to the car.

Does the stereo surround trim just pop out, or do you need to remove the stereo?

Pops out easily; you can just about do it with fingernails alone.

Brilliant cheers, going to try doing mine red to match exterior
