Damn! Getting spikes of 2.3 bar on the guage in 3rd gear at the moment. Not making the car any faster - its just surging the engine more, but it look funky to nearly make my 2.5 bar guage go off the clock. :cool:

Need to do something really to accommodate all this surge - something more needs doing I feel. ;)

:rofl::D PMSL! The noise is too good to waste it all like that. If I get a dump valve I'll personally flog myself repeatedly with a big bit of birch. I've been having this argument on my little local cruising forum down here - Everyone saying I should get a dump valve and me saying NO and that I like the soundtrack as it is. :rolleyes:

VTA wastegate? It's the only honest way of managing the problem :)

Jay it might be more boost gauage related than real boost, mine seems to "boost" high in 3rd gear the gauage peaks between 1.8-1.9 and since fitting the FMIC I've seen it hit 2.0!

As the standard turbo cant boost that high I'm guess it's gauge related?

should drop nwith the fitment of the FMIC tbh, could be the cold....

I've seen a remapped vrs with a full miltek system peak at almost 1.9bar. This was measured using vag-com. Maybe your gauge is correct and the mapping needs altering?

I guess that would explain the clutchslip I've been gettin lately :rolleyes:

Maybe I should have it checked on VAG-COM as the standard turbo should only boost to 1.7 as a max, anything over that I thought would kill he turbo?

Its official max boost is limited to 1.8 bar - thats what is pushes consistently and reliably. It just seems keen to spike to well over 2 in 3rd gear - doesn't do it in 4th and above though - 3rd must be low enough to encourage it a bit?
