Maximum boot load in the Fabia

Featured Replies

Probably say's this in the manual but I am trying to secure a deal on some free weights atm.

What's the maximum safe load I can carry in the boot of the Fabia, were talking 250-300kg's - is that a little too much ??

Cheers for help

If you do put that lot in there, make sure its firmly wedged! wouldnt want it sliding forward if you had a crash, straight through the seats and into your back.

According to this document the payload for the vRS is 405kg.

Rob.

it should be fine but as goochie said make sure you strap it down well

Excellent, thanks

Yeah I can see a problem if 5x 20KG cast iron weights and about 20 others at various weights are involved in an accident, carnage

It'l be a nice slow drive with all the extra weight, still might add a bit of balance with the heavy front end

I carried 20 bags of cement at 25kgs each a while back. No way they#d actually fit in the boot, but I really had to spread the load - Think I had 5 bags around the front seat area, 7 bags laid out on the back seats/footwells (with a sheet under of course) and 8 bags in the boot.

Car was just a LITTLE bit sluggish, as this was prior to even Briskoda, so was a standard PD100. Thank God for the torque at least. :)

You really need to check the Tech Data booklet which comes with your car - or the plated weight details (under the bonnet) - to ensure that you are not exceeding the permissible rear axle weight.

remember to up the air in the tyres too
