clutch change accident

Featured Replies

hi every one

i was doing a vr6 clutch change on my  mk1 octavia 4x4, when my trolly jack under my gear box slipped and the weight of the box went on to the crank.... naturally i should have had a transmission jack..... any suggestions on potential damage done to the crank ? hopefully its not bent as the box wasn't that heavy

also while im here.. what power-steering fluid does it take

thanks

Crank??

probably bent the friction disc....  :peek:

Damage - None to bent crank and flywheel. It's impossible to say how much without a proper inspection.

ok thanks... will soon find out putting car back together now, doing other mods at the same time, 3" dp, audi tt subframe and alloy wishbones, superpro increase caster bushes, audi tt brakes, twin pass fmic..... was going to go stage 3 crt turbo but going to save and iv also got stage 2 map, i put NLS/ALS on my self.... if anyone wants it i can mod your hex file to put it on

Will be fine

ALS on a car with no rods and a chocolate turbo

You will be replacing engine and turbo very soon anyway lol

ah its only a little 2 step, what could possibly go wrong, 5 deg ATDC.... iv iv used it a bit on my k03s and it looks fine so far, rods are on the to do list
