Hello from Norway

Featured Replies

Hi!

I've found this forum very helpful after I bought my first car, numerous google-searches ended up here with lots of good info. Thanks for all the posts guys!

I just completed 10000 km in my "new" late 2012 Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo (1.2 TSI), bought it used May this year.

I wasn't really into cars before (the Fabia is my first car, bought at the ripe age of 36), but now I am more-than-average interested :). Went for a Skoda based on advice from numerous friends. I even put a old Android-phone in the dash to run the Torque app (I'm a developer, so I like data :))

Got the Amundsen+ RNS 315 with GPS. Pretty good for a 2012-model, only thing missing was bluetooth, so I had to get some MDI-connectors for extra music playback options (Spotify).

Have not done much to it, except added the BSR tuning-kit (stage 1), went from ~86bhp to 122 in a few minutes for about 650 euro. So I guess I can call it a "brisk Skoda" ;), overtaking in fifth gear is now an option!

Welcome from a fellow 1.2TSI owner, albeit the 105 in a heavier car. I like the sound of your BRS tuning kit. What do you get for your 650 Euro?

Hello and Welcome to Briskoda

The specs for the BSR kit is here: http://www.bsr-tuning.co.uk/products/tuning-kits/skoda/fabia/

You get a special handheld device (known as a PPC unit) that you connect to the ODB-port for programming the cars computer, nice to have when you need factory-defaults for service etc :) Swapping back and forth is easy. Software updates included for two years I think, connect PPC-device to computer and download (haven't gotten any updates for my firmware yet).

Strange, in their Norwegian shop they include a motor and "related parts" guarantee, but not in their UK webshop.
