anybody know what this is off???? looks like my standard mk1 airbag, saw this on a for sale advert on ebay and really like. Wonder how much work it would be to do. Very interested if anybody else has done this on here

i am correct in looking at this though arnt i, that is my airbag from my mk1. Would love to know how much work is involved in this.

Disconnect battery. Leave for 30 minutes minium. Unscrew air bag and remove. Place carefully on passenger seat. Unbolt steering wheel.

Refit new wheel. Fit airbag. Reconnect battery.

so the mk1 airbag screws straight into the mk3 steering wheel?? with all the same fixing points.  Have you done this?

not to state the obvious, but somebody has done this. I am very interested in doing this but need to find out what this wheel is off and how my airbag would fit, ie fixing points, airbag connector plugs and all that. I don't mean to come across the wrong way either, it was more the modification method that I was after rather than the method of removing my airbag. But thanks anyway

I havent found and R32 wheel with a flat bottom....yet!!!

R32 wheel isn't flat bottom. Mk5 or Mk6 Golf GTi or R maybe but I thought airbag was different on them.

They need to be modified to fit Mk4 platform.
