Hi all I've just bought a 06 1.9tdi elegance. When I press the central locking button next to the handbrake it locks fine but when I press the unlock button nothing happens so I've gotta use the remote on the key. Any ideas?. Also on the inside of the drivers door post is a small button that's lit up red in the middle again any ideas plz

The switch is prone to packing up.

The other switch on the B pillar disables the internal alarm sensors so you can leave the dog or kids in the car without the alarm going off.
