Wheel brushes

Featured Replies

Want to get some wheel brushes, looking at the Wheel Woolies set and the Auto finesse hog hair brushes.

Are the wheel woolies really worth the money, any other brushes I should consider?

One thing to look at is how much clearance you have between your wheel and callipers / backplates, I have a set of wheel woolies but TBH rarely use them as they can be easily damaged by the backplates.

With my Superb now being on 19’s this may change.

Wheel woolies are worth it, you can use the various sizes for various jobs. Check caliper clearance as you may need to move the car forward a bit to get all the wheel done. (Depends on car, wheel etc)

Have a look at Tim's (Envy Valeting) brushes.

Got an O3 VRS on 18's so not too much clearance between the caliper and Wheel, think it's JUST possible to get 17's on with winter tyres to give you an idea of clearance

What do you use Gizmo?

Wheel woolies are very good and definitely worth having in your detailing armoury!

I also highly recommend the Daytona Speedmaster brushes.

Fine for every type of alloy i have cleaned to date basically.

Similar to the EZ style but a firmer metal stem - which have never failed;

whereas some early EZ metal was prone to failure.

Dooka stocks the Daytona:-

Perhaps add a Dooka Wheel mitt - and i think you are pretty much set!

No problem at all...

I have a set of wheel woolies, well worth it IMO. These brushes on ebay are good for doing the faces of your calipers as you can get into the recesses with them. The item number is 121804546905. 5 brushes for around £8 with free postage.

I've got the normal wheel woolies, and also the wheel woolies brush which is really good. Those together with a noodle mitt always bring my alloys up nice and clean just using normal car shampoo, no need for any specific wheel cleaners. My wheels sealed with C5 though which makes life easy.

As Ade and Mr K say...well worth it

Mine get used a lot
