Mitchell&king Lotus

Featured Replies

Decided to give the fabia a wash and then try out my new Mitchell&king wax so heres what went down................

Wheels washed first using bilberry wheel cleaner and bouncers slick mick shampoo

Foamed the car using obsession wax blizzard (10min dwell time) then rinsed off

Washed car with bouncer slick mick shampoo and car pro mit

Towel dryed with Autofinesse drying towel

Now the fun part..............Waxing the car :D

Mitchell&king suggest applying their waxes in a straight line with very little pressure and then leave for at least 15min to cure and also to remove the wax use a short pile microfibre instead of a plush one.  The wax went on really nice and smooth but when it came to removal i did struggle a bit i reckon this was proberbly down to user error (work in too cold condition and struggling to find the right kind of cloth to buff the wax off)

Anyway once i found a suitable cloth sucess was acheived so ive attched a few rubbish pics of the end result

So to sum things up yes i did struggle using this wax but this was down to numerous things (weather,my choice of microfiber) once the weather warms up a bit and ive bought some more microfibres im sure this wax will be a joy to use.

Great post Mark

Good attempt in the weather too

Not a good day for waxing

Cu soon

Hey Mark - definitely a bit on the chilly side today for waxing.

I know - dying to try out my Xmas present - but holding fire for now.

A good thick MF of 500gsm and above should work well and sometimes

good to use two MF's per panel. 1 for initial buff, and 2nd for final wipe.

CarPro BOAs would be a good starting point on this IMO.

This is a good technique when using higher carnauba content with an oily carrier ingredient.

Initial impressions though - did it bring up gloss levels, more flake pop, ???

Just been out to check for holograms and the gloss and flake pop doesn't seem any different to before (was already decent to start with lol) I reckon once the weather is warmer and a couple more coats are applied I should have better results

I will update this thread with some beading shots and report back on gloss levels once I've slapped a few more coats on

Well - if holograms were not evident; you have done a decent job on buffing for sure.

Looking forward to your updates on M&K; a brand i have been curious about for some time.

Oh i know the feeling - last batch of beading pics i did were at night, in the rain, with an LED torch....

That is mighty impressive for a single layer buddy - great product and lovely paint too.

Looking forward to more layers in due course..... looks like you are onto a winner
