Help with VRS parking sensor fault

Featured Replies

Wondered could someone help me? We have a 2015 VRS Octavia showing the below fault, anyone have any ideas on how to fix this or will I have to replace the sensor? Also does the rear bumper have to come off to change if needed?

1 fault found:

1079316 - Centre Rear Right Parking Aid Sensor

B1078 14 [008] - Open or Short to Ground

intermittent - Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear

Freeze Frame:

Fault Status: 00000001

Fault Priority: 3

Fault Frequency: 1

Reset counter: 1

Mileage: 8443 km

Date: 2015.12.25

Time: 13:23:32

Any help appreciated

Take it to the dealer and get it changed under warranty

That's a fault that has occurred once on the 25th December, if they are working ok then there is usually nothing to worry about unless it becomes more of a problem. The modern electronics in cars can lead to false faults being logged, in the first instance the usual process is to clear the fault and drive as normal and see if it returns.

Sorry mate I maybe wasn't clear, the parking sensors haven't worked since the 25th. When reverse is selected there is a long tone and the display on the radio doesn't appear

As said before take it to the dealer and get it fixed under warranty!

That sensor has almost certainly failed but could be a poor electrical connection also.

Just book it in the dealers and get it investigated under warranty.....they'll probably just replace the sensor and job done.

Maybe check your boot spare wheel area for water (maybe affected electrics).
