Yeti Tyres for very hot climate (In Qatar!)

Featured Replies

I am assuming that this topic of tyres would have been discussed to death. However I am in Qatar and recently purchased a 2013 Skoda Yeti 4x4 elegance. The Yeti had the original tyres (dunlop SP 01) and i replaced the front 2 with a Dunlop 225/50 R17 94w Direzza DZ102. I have two questions if i could ask for some advice. I have never owned a Yeti before let alone a 4WD.

1. Is it advisable to fit these Direzza tyres on the Yeti? or are they only fit for sedans? I didn't have a choice i needed to replace the tyres as soon as possible.

2. I am planning to replace the back tyres as well. Does anyone know if i can use a different set of tyres at the back?

3. Any recommendations for tyres for v hot climate?

Thanks in advance

IB

The dunlop Direzza DZ102
  • Offers enhanced performance in wet conditions due to aggressive tread design
  • Offers enhanced wet and dry traction with super abrasion carbon and silica
  • Helps reduce irregular wear and noise as a result of wear trimming
  • Helps maintain extended performance and appearance because of deeper lateral cuts and shoulder grooves
  • Smooth performance at highway speeds through Jointless Band Technology™
  • Helps protect rims from curb damage with its Max Flange Shield®

Precision handling, powered by DuPont™ Kevlar®. For high performance sports cars.

Either one will be more than OK for your application.

So if you already have the DZ102 I would keep to those when replacing your other tyres.

The tyres you have fitted have load and speed requirements that are equal to or above the minimum for the Yeti.

I would be looking at fuel efficient ones - low energy Michelin for example.

They have less cut and sipes which in a desert environment obviously would be not exposed to cold wet conditions.
