My Fabia vRS was written off at the end of November 2015 and my insurance cheque arrived just before Christmas.

 

I was looking at upgrading to a Octy vRS but have currently a 400 mile weekly commute so was edging towards a diesel rather than the petrol unless these are rather economical also ?

Usual advice. Drive both see which you like. Work out which is going to cost less to run/enjoy more. 

I have a similar commute, currently costs me around £40 each week in fuel for diesel. Is a standard vRS with no map

Ooo 12 months after mine.

My 06 Fabia diesel Vrs was written off late 2014, bought an 07 Octy diesel Vrs estate to replace it.

Fabia was quicker and handled better (148hp and a whiteline rear bar)

Octy is way better on long journeys, very comfortable and huge luggage capacity and surprisingly more economical.

I do 27miles a day each way commute and can do 2 weeks on a tankful

Having said that I wish I could have kept the Fabia......

I'm in that dilemma of do I get another Fabia or go for an Octavia ?

All depends on what you want from the car.

Fabia was a hoot but not practical for work as I'm self employed and carry lots of tools around so ended up with the back seats down all the time.

Octavia is not so much fun but my tools fill the boot and I can leave the seats up.

When I replace it if I am no longer working it may well be with a Fabia Vrs estate as I wont be doing so much milage

I had a 56 fabia vrs and now have a 07 octavia vrs diesel estate,the octavia wins hands down IMHO miles more comfy than the fabia

Arm rest and cruise control and away you go both excellent on juice just preference the Octy cheers firthy
