Fabric Seat Cleaner?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys.

Just wondering if i could pick at your knowledge again :D

Ive got a 2013 Fabia with the black and grey seats.

The grey on the drivers seat over time has become abit faded. You wouldnt notice, if it wasnt for the passenger seat right next to it :D. I think it must have come off my trousers, as i usually wear quite dark jeans.

Just wondered if there was a good cleaner which would bring it back up like new again to match the passenger seat, its not that bad, but im abit of an OCD and its slowly starting to catch my eye more and more.

Thankyou!

Another option would be meguiars APC. As well as the seats, which it will clean excellently diluted at 1:10, it is also great for cleaning engine bays, door shuts, tyres and interior trim. Available at Euro Car Parts with free delivery.

It's a really versatile product that I wouldn't be without.

I haven't used the Muc Off APC but I know the Megs one is designed to be used on the upholstery. If in doubt, I wouldn't use the Muc Off APC.

Other Cleaners are available

They are indeed Andy ;)  :giggle:

Sorry - only just catching up with this post... One of my favourite products Autobrite FAB.

Smells great too and superb cleaning power.

Just got 5L in the Xmas sale as well.... as i use it on cars AND around the house.

One example which i was cleaning up the frontdoor mat in the house over Xmas.

50:50 shot shows the cleaning power and this isnt using neat either..... you can dilute:-

Oh brill. Looks good. My car seat isnt quite that dirty :D.

Do you just spray on and scrub?

I shall report back (:

Yes - i applied a decent amount over the section shown; then went at it with my upholstery brush;

to agititate the fibres and really work the product in and draw the dirty back out.

I then went back over it with a yellow MF towel to start drying the mat and removing any excess.

As shown here - a single pass was good enough even on this

PS: Obviously with the car seats - you might want to think carefully about the ventilation/drying phase as well; but i'm not sure how much of the seats need attention....

That's really impressive! I've always believed in using specific products for certain jobs. This is a prime example.

That's right

I would agitate it with a brush too....then rub off with atowel (MF will be fine) and allow to dry or get the hairdrier out!!

DONT OVER WET THE SEATS

Open the windows too...lol

Good luck

Cheers! Sounds spot on.

Its just the base of the drivers seat really. Its noy that bad, the greys juststarting to get noticably darker than the passenger side to my eye. Im sure its just the dye out of my jeans.

I do know people who are really keen, that only drive in jogging bottoms hahaa.

Cheers! Sounds spot on.
