Fabia VRS Mk1 timing issues

Featured Replies

Hello, I'm new to this forum and very happy with my mk1 Fabia VRS! Changing the cam belt as the lower intercooler pipe blew off into my serpentine belt and got tore to shreds, these shreds were pulled into the cambelt, throwing it out of time. I've figured that much out anyway! Tomorrow I'm changing the cambelt and serpentine (water pump is fairly new so not changing what I don't need to).

However, I haven't (and won't) have time to go and grab a Haynes manual.

So here's the big question! Does anyone have a Haynes local to me which I could borrow? Or can tell me all the torque settings?

It's one of them things which you think of last minute and amidst all other problems, completely forgot about the manual!

Thanks in advance, much appreciated!

I thought my location was on the post sorry! I'm in Telford, Shropshire!

Do you have the correct locking tool's?

Also if it's thrown the timing out be prepared for at least a smashed follower or 2 or bent valves

Yeah I have all the correct tools. If the belt has slipped more than 3 teeth then it would have caused damage, if it's less than 3, no damage would have been caused. That's from what I've read anyway.
