Amundsen quirk

Featured Replies

This morning following a school run got back in my car and started it up. I noticed I have lost all the DAB presets and the logos. No delete button was pressed which would seem a likely cause so I'm at a loss as to what has happened.

Has anyone seen this occur?

Yes i have, it was a cold damp morning that was all that happened and it hasnt repeated - and we have had many cold damp mornings! just put them back in again and life goes on. thought it was strange that it was only the DAB presets none of the others or the phone ones, simply clever !

Software glitch then I would guess.

Not a major issue but begs the question why? Car was serviced recently and no 'software' updates applied.

Who wrote the software for these....

Is is MIB1? Because if it is, welcome to my world. The bloody thing has a mind of its own and is allergic to temperatures below about 5C. Things disappearing, sat nav map changing from day mode to night mode and 2D to 3D at random, SD card errors, ghost sitting in the passenger seat pushing buttons, volume muting randomly, you name it - it does it. It's like the Les Dawson of ICE. Told the dealer on the last service but of course it behaves for them. Said to the lad 'might it need a software upgrade' and he looked at me like I'd pooed in the foyer.

Next car's going to have an A to Z and a ghettoblaster.

Interesting you should say that... Started the car this morning, freezing cold outside...  the Amundsen wouldn't power on, just got a message saying "Audio not available"... after a couple of minutes of the car warming up, it came back to life like nothing's wrong. Surely this can't be normal behaviour? Or maybe it is, now you'd said that!

This is exactly the sort of thing. The unit tends to settle down a bit when the hot air's been on for ten minutes. There's another couple of threads complaining about similar things round here so it's a reasonably widespread issue I think. Seems to be the MIB1 Amundsen/Bolero units mainly. Wonder if it's condensation or something?
