Estate is Faster?

Featured Replies

Just looking at Skodas UK Webiste, and they claim a 1.6MPI hatchback does 0-60 in 12.3S and does 118MPH. The 1.6MPI Estate Version Does 0-60 in 10.2S! and does 117MPH, A Misprint Surely or is there some other explination?

Wonder if the estate has shorter gearing as they're assuming it's going to be more heavily loaded?

Chris

Nope , that'll be a misprint

But It Still Does The Same Top Speed -1MPH!, They should have geared the hatchback the same too if that's the case. What does make me wonder though is Torque Figures arn't published for the estate, but it's a 1.6 102HP, The Same as the hatch, maybe they have got more torque from it and havent published the figures yet?

Oh, did it have to be a misprint, thought i was onto something!

The 06/05 brochure gives 12.3 and 118, and 12.4 and 117 respectively. So it's a mipsprint, as they say. :)

Talking about brochure misprints, have they fixed the bit that says the 2.0 FSI has 2 valves per cylinder?

Could be better aerodynamics.

My father had an estate car that was more stable in cross winds than its saloon counterpart. This was because of the different body shape.
