Wipers affect interior lighting

Featured Replies

Hi everybody.
I have been bugged by this issue for way to long now, which is why I went to briskoda, people that are on here seems pretty clever.

Anyway. The issue seems to have started after I changed to LED interior roof lights, and is only noticeable once in awhile.

When my wipers are on the first setting (driver set intervals) or I manually activate the wipers, my interior lights will flash maybe every 5th time in average. And maybe every 50th time it will turn off my instrument lights They only flash when the wipers hit the "stop" point.

If I use the windshield washer it will also usually flash when it reaches the last wipe before the little pause.

The thing that really confuses me is that if my wipers don't stop (setting 2 and 3) the light will not flash, and no issue seems to exist.

Please let me know any info you need.

Ps.

Most LED's are "canbus safe" don't know if this can be an issue?

The car is a '06 6y5 1.2HTP with 70.000km on the clock (roughly 40k miles)

I have checked that all fuses are firmly inserted, and no fuses are blown.

I will be forever grateful to whoever can help me to get this issue solved!

Just depends what LEDs you use. If they are canbus friendly with the resister they won't do it.

Mine do the same anyway, doesn't bother me :D

Really, it doesn't bother you?
What kind of LED's do you use?

Don't remember now, bought them last year, just cheap ones really.

I'd think you would need something similar to this, just the first one I could find but they should cure it.

Thanks, I use some similar to those, but I'll go all bulbs thru tomorrow and see if any of them are not can bus error free.

Thanks for you help so far :)

No problem.

Just to add, I've had the standard light, update with map lights and W8 interior light in different cars and they all done this when fitting LED lights.
