Shinny Brown...

Featured Replies

If that's Magnetic Brown Metallic I'm looking forward to getting mine in March :)

Magnetic Brown is a divisive colour to say the least. SWMBO banned me from choosing it and the Brown L&K interior.

The interior colour also reminds me of my parents' Cortina estate - much motion sickness and sitting on hot, sticky vinyl in boiling hot traffic jams in the '80s

The only problem with showroom photos on the darker colours like Magnetic Brown, Petrol Blue, Rosso Brunello etc is that due to the lighting in the showroom the car will very rarely actually look like the photo, which is a pity because the lighting shows off the metallic fleck to its best.

It's much more 'black' IRL. There's some bettet pictures in the picture thread.

Yes, I've had comments thinking it's black or even a very dark aubergine colour but clearly brown in the sunshine (although this,is currently in short supply)

Yes, I have magnetic brown on my MKII and it is certainly almost black in some light.  That showroom pic is not what it will look like in real life although the colour tint does change a little from dark to lighter brown in some light.  It is certainly a distinctive colour and suits the Superb however best avoided with brown interior IMO but each to their own!

I'm glad that you said that about the brown interior as I hate that with a passion, specifically chose a darker colour so that I could have a contrast with the beige ventilated leather :)

Yes, brown exterior works really well with beige interior.

I have an Mk3 magnetic brown estate and it looks much darker in real life than those showroom pictures.  Most people think it is black.

That wouldn't bother me too much as I'll be coming from a Black Fabia Monte Carlo Tech :)

Would totally agree with her, however it's a different story with the beige ventilated L&K interior I'm hoping.

The finance director (SWMBO) has seen the external and internal colours of the car and she approves.

I think Petrol blue and the beige interior will compliment each other pretty well.
