Hi folks, I need some assistance with selecting a proper set of shocks for my car (2002, 1.6). Is the golf and jetta shocks the same as the skoda octavia?

 

The reason for asking is, that I am currently running a set of rear mk4 golf shocks on my Octavia and they seemed to be about an inch shorter than the original Octavia shocks. The front seems to be the same though.

 

 

Trying to find a part number will help, if they are listed with the same part number, it should be the same part.

The back of an octavia is heavier than a golf, due to the hatch over hang and bigger glass area. Thus the spring ratings are totally different.

as above   I'd use Bilsteins cat for a fairly safe comparator
