I posted this on Fabia1 but redirected here. My Fabia Scout is experiencing electrical problems. The engin will not switch off if the headlights are on or the rear widescreen heater is on. Anyone else have this happen?

No, but its meant to be the other way round. The rear heater won't come on until engine is running. The lights go on to sidelights when engine switched off. Sounds like yours is wired wrong!

Yes, that used to happen, it's now malfunctioning.

I would try the ignition relay. I've dealt with a problem on old Fiestas where the engine and heater fans + the reverse lights won't work, flash the headlamps and the engine cuts out !   I know this is F#rd info but the ignition relay and any earth wires from it failing, can cause headaches.  

Disconnect the battery for a few minutes. This has cured a number of faults on mine.
