Coming home mode enabled with Carista

Featured Replies

Whilst I have the rain sensor on my car, I don't have the auto mode for lights. This doesn't bother me, I'm happy to decide when I want the light on, but the coming home going away functionality is desirable.

I enabled these options using Carista and chose auto, nothing happened. So I then chose custom. Now when I unlock the car with the blipper the lights turn on - great.

However when I get home and lock the car they don't. Not so great. I recall on another thread about some Chinese switch that flashing the lights before locking the car (or some similar action) primed the coming home mode, but I can't recall what it was, and having cleared my followed threads I can't find it again.

Does anyone know the secret?

Without the auto light switch I think you have to leave the light on to get the coming home to work. That's certainly how mine worked before I fitted the switch.

They then should only switch on when you unlock the car if it's dark but then obviously come on when you switch the ignition on if the switch is still on.

For the sake of a switch and a wire I would look into fitting the auto switch as it's a nice and really simple upgrade.

I have used Carista to enable leaving home lights only. The lights come on when I press the unlock button.

I use them as coming home lights by pressing the unlock button on my key when I leave the car. The lights will stay on until you get to your door then you can simply lock the car and they go off.   I also use this function as a very heavy and expensive torch during the winter months so I can go to my bins (they are right in front of my parking space).

As long as your door is within the range of your RF key you'll be laughing.
