De-Badge ?

Featured Replies

My dealer will debadge for me during the valet before collection. I always have preferred a cleaner look!

Here she is,de-badged bar the 4x4 one, looking lovely, just a bit of thin fishing line behind each letter side to side motion and pull away, easy!i do wish you could buy the chrome strip that goes accross the bottom of the tailgate like on the passat or facelift superb 11,you can even get one officialy from skoda for the octavia i had it put on my octy looked really classy, give the rear of the car a real lift, before anyone says you can,i dont mean the bumper protector!! Pleased with the look though.as well as the superb pics i have also posted a pic of my octy vrs tsi to show the chrome strip, perhaps i will have some positive feed back as to why i wish they sold them for the superb.kevin.

Can't see the pics yet Kevin?

Having trouble uploading pics, will try again later, sorry.

I wasn't charged for debadging at the factory for the three Audi A4's I had.

Surely you mean you weren't charged for them not putting the badges on in the first place (at the factory)?! Nice of them to not do something for free  ;)

Here at last the pics to pair up with my post on 23 jan on the de-badge subject, and the unavailability of the chrome strip at the base of the tailgate,as on my replaced octy vrs tsi.kevin.

That colour is gorgeous, will be rare enough aswell...

I think, I will leave the badges on. It looks "naked" without them :) Love the Jungle Green, by the way - it looks great!

Love it....very distinctive!  Well help to maintain a certain uniqueness that other Superbs wont have.

I also agree the green looks absolutely great. I was talked out of choosing it by a) wife “too country” and b ) salesman “not popular in the UK”, apparently also to do with some sort of superstition? Rubbish. In retrospect, I think neither is a valid argument.

As for de-badging: I would do this as a matter of course with Mercs and BMWs we’ve owned before, but don't feel the need with the Superb. First, there are no silly references to engine type or size (these days totally misleading on the aforementioned brands anyway). Second, there’s the pleasure of reverse snobbery as in “who’s the fool now?" – the aforementioned like-for-like A6 comparison being a favourite of mine, too.

Great choice of colour - Jungle Green.

Sooty1444 I enjoyed your photos.

I didn't want my bloody badges off Coops !! Put 'em back !!!

Sorry Nick, was just told to do the red estate!

And he stole your exhaust trims too Nick!

But yep, debadged looks great and the dealership kindly did it for me FOC.

Bloody hell I'm speechless !!! I loved those trims :-(

There is a recess that the (round) Škoda badge sits in, there are usually a couple of holes as well.

sadly if no space left for rear view camera (protectable like Passat has)

The Superb does not use that type of camera, on the Superb it is mounted under the lip where the boot handle is, so is always visible.

@Gizmo68

i know where it's mounted by default and can imagine how fast it will became dirt :(

It does get dirty obviously, but I have currently don’t 700 miles on mainly wet roads in the last 10 days and yes the camera is dirty... the car is filthy! but it is still just about useable.

It is also in an ideal place to give it a wipe when the tailgate / hatch is opened (not done that this week mind.

How about putting a BMW badge on? That could confuse a few people!
