Meguiars Endurance Tyre Gel

Featured Replies

Hi guys, what do you reckon to this stuff?

I have used some low end products in the past and typically got low end results.

I want something that has a decent shine, is long lasting and doesn't fall off or go streaky at the first sign of a damp road.

Your thoughts, as always are both welcomed and valued.

Its what I use.

Looks good for a reasonable length of time.

Be careful not to put too much on or you'll suffer from `sling`.

Give it a bit of a whoosh with an old hairdryer is an option to dry it.

It's also what I use. As above, to much application can cause sling. Personally it something I've never had from said product but it does happen.

Reasonably priced & a nice shine. I've had it last about a week on my car so well worth it at £10 a bottle :)

I've got some of this and never got around to using itbyet! I must have had it for 3 years.

I use CG New Look Trim Gel which I believe is very similar. They don't soak in as such and they don't bond, they sit on top so they don't last a massive amount of time. But they look good for a couple of weeks and, as Mike said, if you put too much on it slings around the wheel arch and up the side of the car.

Once I have applied I leave it for a hoyr or two, and then remove the excess with an old cloth.

Other options are, I believe, longer lasting and they actually bond to the tyre. Gtech T1 and arte de shine are a couple that spring to mind. Ste has used T1. I'm sure he will be along with advice.

There is nothing wrong with my Cg gel though. I'll get my Megs out and give it a go. I'll report back, but Karl uses this so he will help you out for sure.

Sorry for babbling a bit.

Haha, I told you Karl knew his onions with this too. Great advice from Mike and Karl. I'll leave you boys to it!

I have a bottle i don't use anymore. Will be about half full. You can have it if you like?

Very kind buddy but on the strength of earlier comments, I ordered some.

Appreciate the thought and thanks to the rest of you guys for the advice.

It looks like the guys have covered this nicely. Great product and worth the money.

Make sure you properly prepare the tyres before hand; clean with APC and/or dedicated degreaser.

This will ensure the products takes properly and adds to longevity of the finish.

Build up thin layers on the first few details and dont over apply - to avoid sling and wastage.

Cheers,
Ste.

I can now confirm that Megs Endurance Gel is better and more goes further than CG New Look Trim Gel

I've been using it for a little while a bottle really seems to last quite a while. It's good stuff the only qualm I have is it can be quite messy to apply but it does work really well.

I've recently been using auto direct tyre sheen http://www.autobritedirect.co.uk/index.php/wheels-tyres/tyre-dressings-protectants/tyre-sheen-show-shine-rubber-dressing.html

Initially I was very impressed as it is much easier and quicker to apply due to it being water based but it doesn't seem to last as long as the megs. However it does seem to work quite well on plastics such as the shuttle tray.

Still megs is a good product so enjoy.

The meguiars tyre gel is good stuff, I always wear gloves when applying and best to apply with a small sponge for good coverage.

Those that are using the megs endurance are you putting it on with the megs applicator. Few reviews have said the product is good but the megs applicator is crap.

Great stuff. I put on sparingly with one of the cheapo dishwashing sponge, perfect applicator.
