Insurance For Furby Vrs

Featured Replies

Trying desperately to get some quotes for insurance on my upcoming vrs.

No one seems to have the car listed in the database. I know it's group 9A, and the only two I've managed to get a quote from are Skoda (who refused to quote me due to 0 yrs NCB) and a small company called Adrian Flux who were very good in finding out the details of the car and offered around

I would give Liverpool Victoria a bell - seem good to me, especially given the modding you may wish to do?

Yep - planning on the modding and that's why I've already rung them. But no vRS on their system yet.

Edit: I'm trying hard not to double post. :p Look at your other insurance post Jason, I mentioned the LV scenario there (http://www.briskoda.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4649) ;)

Direct Line have the car on their system and it only cost me 40 sheets more for the remaining 5 months!

Will phone around whenit is renewal time, but for now I'm well pleased!

yeah.. i know what you mean.

the only insurance companys i know have it on their systems are Direct line and Elephant.

im about to sort my insurance out in advance.. so then its paid for then i can sort out how much jabba money i got :D

ill probably be going direct line

Hmm. Yes, in fact, I'll admit I did get a quote from DL, but dismissed it as it was over 1300 notes :(

Tried More Th>n. "

Nope, don't have it on our database, sir. Sorry"

So, do you wanna insure me? Well, do you, punks?!?

:(

If a car is not on a company's database, they should allow the insuree to give details like cc, bhp, price, performance etc, and use that to base a premium on. In fact, come to think about it, you should be able to tell the car is group 9A, and give them the purchase price, and that should be sufficient - IMHO, at least.

More Th>n have gone down in my estimations recently, so I'm kind of glad they haven't got your business - It doesn't help you with your search for insurance though, does it? :(

Nope, it certainly doesn't. I told the chap the car was group 9A and the price and it was a "normal" furby, but he said he couldn't do it 'cos it's the only furby model at 9A ! :(

I'll prolly wait another few days and try LV again. If not, it'll be the first guys (Adrian Flux) who were very helpful

EDIT: although they were very helpful, when i did phone back to find out how much it would be to add my gf to the policy, the chap said they'd just suffered a computer crash due to a power cut (classic ;) ) and he'd phone me back asap. The call never materialised

Tesco.com don't have it listed online. Closest they had (!) was a 1.9 tdi - which would cost me

Hmm, well, if I try and add my GF on it, Flux is no go 'cos my GF's a french lass having lived in the uk with me for only one year.

**CKING HELL! THIS IS STARTING TO ANNOY ME grumpy.gif

Well, Liverpool Victoria phoned me back just now.

The fact that the car isn't on their database yet and the fact I'm not yet 25 (albeit I will be in 5 frikkin months!) they refuse to quote.

So that leaves me with AF who won't insure my gf and DLine who are asking 1500 quid. Eff Off DL, I'm not gonna pay that.

So, any considerate insurers out there who are prepared to insure a just-under-25 yr old who has 5 years of licence and 5 years of driving (named driver on father's insurance), never had a car crash in his life...

I'm beginning to despair! :(

Well, you do have a choice with DL - increase your excess. My attitude is that it's better to pay it if you have an accident, not in case you have an accident. If you increase it to

i just got a quote to change my insurance over to my octavia and it increases my policy up to

I take it that

rob

v low excess i have been driving for 4 months and live in central derby

also i am not lucky
