About to buy 1st Fabia...Advice needed please!!

Featured Replies

As an Octavia owner, I am now looking to buy a Fabia estate for my partner. One I am looking at is a 1.4 16v Comfort on an 02 plate in diamond silver. It has had one owner from new and has a full skoda service history. It has covered 96,000 miles, is this a worry for me ? My partner only does very low mileage (about 4-5000 a year) and we would be looking to keep it for about 3 years. Has anyone had experience of a high mileage petrol fabia? It is priced around 2900 pounds, is this reasonable? Any advice or things to look out for on this particular car would be really helpful. Is an RAC inspection (cost 90 pounds) worth while? I will of course HPI the car anyway.

Thanks

I would as like most high mileage cars as long as they have been well serviced and looked after there should not be a problem.

The AA inspection is purely down to personal choice, if your not sure what to look for then maybe it's worth it.

sounds like a bargin at that price and age... high mileage doesnt take a toll on most modern cars. if ur a bit worried, nothing wrong in taking it to ur local dealer once uv got it and get them to give it the once over and gets u registered on their system.

Although by that time, it might be too late ;) I would personally steer clear of high milers as, even though the engines are fine, other parts of the car are starting to wear out and can be costly to replace. Definitely worth a look, but go in with eyes open :D
