Paying off the pcp

Featured Replies

Hi just wondering if I should pay off my pcp

It a 2015 greenline yeti

Didn't want finance when I bought it but because of the extras I decided to go ahead just to get the discounts with a view to paying it off early which will be apx £600 if payed off early

But with the VW deisel saga do I hang on and let the term run to get their gauranteed trade in price

Or take it on the chin and hope the trade in value will be ok in 2 years time

Advise welcome

£600 quid over 2 years is it worth paying it off. I suppose it depends on interest rate and what you could save.

If you keep it going you will have more choices at the end. Trade in price or the GMV price.

If it is ONLY £600 then you would be mad to pay it off, especially if you do not intend on keeping it IMO.

I paid off mine after 4 months but that was £19k and saved approx £3k in interest if it had gone full term but I intended on keeping it, so it made sense.

But if it is only £600 then I think I would keep my money in another investment and decide at the end of your PCP.

Also I was told to hang onto my VAG product if it is in any way involved with the scandal or the C02 saga as VW will have to compensate in some way at some point.

The true cost will be £600 less the interest you'd earn by leaving the money you'd use to pay off the car, in a deposit account.

VW keep on flip flopping about diesel gate compensation - VW Germany says customers will be looked after, VW UK said last week that UK drivers have suffered no loss so no compensation.

If only we had regulators with teeth like the US.
