phone holder for vRS

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any recommendations on a high quality mobile phone holder which fits into the air vent of my Fabia vRS? without causing damage. i bought the aoodle one  from amazon, which has fits into the air vent but it fell after after a few minutes of driving. I know there's a lot of suction cup ones out there but if they are anything like the garmin ones they usually loose suction after a while and fall off. I need it to clip on permenently.An air vent one would be good as I dont really want it to be near the windscreen where it could obscure my vision. particularly since the windscreen is where my garmin currently is mounted.

thanks

I normally use Brodit dash mounts and holders;

But haven't seen the Fabua options to be honest.

worth looking up online...

A could of my friends have bought 'air vent' phone holders from EBay, dirt cheap, I think they only paid £3 or something. They both get used twice daily and I can say that neither of the lads are gentle, yet the cheap phone holders are definitely still working perfectly. One is in a Ford Fiesta, the other in a Golf, I assume they're a universal air vent fitment. Sorry I don't have any links for you, just thought I'd mention a successful story from a very cheap holder.

I bought three of those for three different cars, cheap and simply do their job. If you have a larger phone, such as an iPhone 6 Plus or any other, it wouldn't fit. Even specs say that should be able to handle mobile phones up to 6.3'', it will not be big enough for an iPhone 6 Plus though. If you want I can measure it so you know if your device will fit or not.

I DIY'd mine.

Cut apart a food can - tom soup or similar. They have corrugations to make them stronger. Cut it so that the corrugations slip between the vents and dash trim.

Mine has a "clip" part and a phone holder part. The clip bit is a bit agricultural. It's basically an offcut complete with the odd saw mark painted black!
