Strange question to those with a hatch version, I am looking at Roof Boxes ready for when the shiny new car arrives.

 

What is the length of the roof, as I would prefer to get a box that does not overhang the windscreen too much in order to keep wind resistance down as much as possible during motorway journeys.

Measured mine for you at about 1.65m. Be mindful of the rear screen when the boot lid opens that your box doesn't overhang too much to foul the glass. Although depending on spec, you can set the boot lid to open a specified amount of it is electrically operated.
