annoying whine from Dance cd player.

Featured Replies

No, it's not the music I'm listening to.....(which is obviously beyond reproach!).

I picked up my new (to me) 2010 Fabia 1.4tdi estate yesterday and took a couple of my favourite CD's to listen to on the journey home.

I switched the radio on and all was (and remains) fine, nice sound quality all-round, however when I put a CD in I almost instantly got a high pitched whine in the background of the music.

It can be drowned out by turning the music up into the mid 20's but it's pretty constant and is a bit of a downer as I bought the car from a friend, and am loathe to raise such a minor niggle on an otherwise lovely car, I'm kinda assuming it's CD motor related due to uniform nature of the noise and wondered if anyone else had raised this issue and come up with a cheap, easy fix or should I be looking for a replacement Dance unit?.

Thanks for your time, and apologies that my second post is a technical query!. Matt
