Bilt Hamber Wax - anyone used?

Featured Replies

Please be kind as I am new to the forum & car cleaning.

I have been looking at getting a wax but not sure which one, my friend swears by Bilt Hamber products, but the wax he uses is out of my price range. I have just looked on their website & torn between Finis Wax or Hydra wax..  One looks a hard wax & the other a liquid?

Has anyone used them & can you offer any help/info?

Hi Trev, welcome to this part of Briskoda. A great online community here.

I've not used BH products that much, and none of the above, but they are well regarded. I'm sure some folk will be along to help you out on this. But I can say that their snow foam is a fantastic product, so all the reviews will be substantiated.

Any further questions on anything else "Car Cleaning" related, don't hesitate to ask away!

Thanks for your reply Neil, was hoping someone had used both or at least one of them. Only posted yesterday so plenty of time left yet.

I've used them both :) and also use double speed wax as well.

All very nice waxes with their pros and cons.

Hydra is the easiest to apply and probably the quickest, but there isn't much in it, probably the least durable.

Finis is the best looking wax due to the largest amount of carnauba. Very very durable - more so than Colinite and FK. Also very easy to use but less so than hydra due to being a paste wax.

Double Speed - would say it's my favourite - easy to use, cheap to buy, amazing hydrophobic qualities and very detergent resistant. I would say it could probably last about as long as Finis although I haven't tested it. That's the one I would buy if I was starting out.

Hope that helps?

Sorry to Hijack the thread a little, Trevor.

Ben, how does Double Speed stack up to Finis in the looks department?

There isn't a huge amount in it Neil. I mean as we know a lot of the looks come from the prep but I would say Finis has a warmer glow compared to double speed which is more reflective.

Absolutely on the prep. Thanks for the info buddy!

I've only used BH DoubleSpeed wax but I was very impressed.

Cheap and a little goes a long wax - great results overall :)
