Back in a Skoda

Featured Replies

Bought myself a 63 plate octavia hatch vrs tsi. I was previously the owner of mk2 tsi octavia in white that was stage 2 with various mods which I sold to a briskoda member.

Spec of my car is as follows:

63 plate octavia hatch vrs tsi DSG

22K on the clock.

In white.

Options;

- tow bar

- Canton sound system

- Full Leather

- heated seats

- 19" extreme alloys

- Parking pilot.

- Auto lights (standard?)

Ive today added the black pack items which enhances its look greatly.

Future plans will be Remap.

And possibly lower on H and R's.

I cant decide if I like the the extreme alloys they were fully re cut and refurbed by the dealer I used. Which does make me like them a bit more. Hmmmmm

Im coming from a Stage tuned 3.0 supercharged v6 audi s4 avant. But still really enjoying the octavia. Feels like home.

I only gpt one key with the car. Any tips on where to get a new one cut and coded thats cheaper than the dealer? I live in the leeds wakefield area west yorkshire.

I also need to source some keys for the factory fitted tow bar as well.

I have a few little issues that are hopefully getting sorted by dealer.

Under the boot spoiler where it is foxed to the boot it has started to corrode so going to dealer for pictures taken. And also get a warning auto headlight control fault when they activate whend its dark enough. They come on ok and work but the fault flashes?? Hmmmmm. And lame assist clearly needs properly coding with tow bar. As thats claiming an error. So just annoying little things.

Sorry for the spelling and grammar errors. I dont get on well, typing on phones.

That sounds very nice, especially the Canton which whilst i have been looking seems to appear in very few used VRS's. Does it have Xenons.

Yes it has xenons. I thought they were standard on the vrs to be honest.

Sounds nice mate....probably not quite the animal a stage 2 S4 avant is (given that'll be +400hp) but alot of quick car for the money with a map.

The spoiler issue is v common, the lacquer seems to delaminate from the paint as it did with the Mk2....it'll need repainting v least....possibly completely replaced...be a warranty issue anyway.

RE the Xenons Id wager there is some issue with the AFL....could be faulty or just need recalibrating. Dealer can do this or possibly someone with VCDS and the know-how. Id probably get it looked at by a dealer with the spoiler to be honest.

RE the Xtremes....I know what you mean. I rather prefer the standard Gemini wheel TBH but the Xtremes are growing on me. They'd look great refinished in Gloss BlacK I think....alot more practical than diamond cut finish too...a pig to maintain and repair when kerbed.

Sounds like a nice motor, hope you get the bits sorted.

Welcome back. :)

By the way xenons and auto lights/wipers/dimming mirror are standard vRS kit...as is the lane assist.

If you are interested it is possible to have High Beam assist coded with VCDS...all the hardware exists (it uses the lane assist camera) just isnt coded at the factory. Thats one of the better vRS tweaks..along with cornering fogs...another thing that can be coded but Skoda would happily charge people for as a factory option.

Thanks for all the info. I went to see andyvee today. (big thanks). Who coded my tow bar properly and activated high beam assist which is a great function I had it on the s4. Added Used fuel function etc. Everything bar cornering fogs which I am not a fan of.

auto light fault is showing as a sensor fault. So all booked in for spoiler/boot rust and auto lights plus also right hand button on mfsw is sticky so that as well. So hopefully should all be covered under warranty.

Yeh the s4 was rr'd at 450bhp. And similair torque. Very fast car. But 300 quid a month in fuel. And only did 1000 miles a month on average!!

Jesus bet that was v quick indeed...not exactly slow as standard never mind with another 125hp haha!

Welcome on the info and glad Andy could help, hes rather a guru when it comes to VCDS coding!

By the way sticky right hand MFSW button...i have that issue too...temperature related only does it when its really cold...annoying all the same.
