Bumper Protector

Featured Replies

This photo may be of help to anyone thinking of buying a Rearguard bumper protector for a Yeti urban facelift model. My rear bumper was scratched by a heavy rucksack so I fitted the protector to cover the scratches and protect against future scrapes. Fitting the Rearguard was slightly tricky as it has to be fixed absolutely centrally. Rainwater can collect on this area of the car as the top of the bumper is level. The protector is the black plastic type and suits the plain rear of the urban as there is no Outdoor 'bling'. (My Yeti is an SE urban).

I was thinking of one of these for mine. I think it looks good..... Not a retrofit item. The black on silver works well. Thanks for including the photo.

I have a similar Rearguard bumper protector on my car. For the Octavia the plastic covers the whole width of the bumper recess and up the sides of the boot aperture to the level of the bottom of the rear light cluster. Rather expensive for a bit of moulded plastic but definitely does the job.

I like that - where did you source it please?

Thanks,

Geoff

One of the changes with the Yeti FL is the rear bumper. The latest one is slightly angled down whereas the previous was level resulting in rain gathering at the rear of the bumper below the tailgate. This shouldn't happen with the latest one, it certainly doesn't happen with mine.

I used one of these bumper protectors on my previous Yeti to cover a scratch caused when coupling my caravan. I don't have the caravan anymore and, so far, bumper has survived scratchless.

Google Rearguard, they are the suppliers.

If you regularly carry a pair of Labradors behind a dog guard, as I do in my Roomster, the bumper protector is essential unless you want the paintwork scratched to buggery.  When I ordered the Yeti it was one of the first things I asked about.
