Is retro fitting electric seats with memory a straight forward job? Is the electric wires/plugs for the standart seat enough or does it require further wiring and perhaps some VCDS?

You would have to add extra wiring including connecting to the can system.

 

for the memory function to work the mirrors they probably need changing too
