MK2 Monte Carlo 1.6TDI -> VRS Finish

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am looking to add some VRS touches to my 1.6TDI Monte Carlo and wondered if anyone else has done anything similar?

Hoping to replace or adapt the bumper for a new VRS style exhaust. Also, any suggestions for new front brakes, as an upgrade to the stock?

Any info would be appreciated!

You can buy a genuine Skoda diffuser that fixes to the bumper that look more like the VRS, and an exhaust end piece to suit.

But as your Monte already has a diffuser you'd probably be better cutting your existing one and just getting the exhaust end piece.a87996ccc79d72a33d7b24afbd38fddc.jpg

The Monte diffuser will be VERY difficult to remove as all the black along the bottom is bonded on with some really good glue and you could risk pulling the paint off the car. Also it'd look odd with the side skirts ending and a gap between the difuser and arch liners. I'd stick with the original diffuser, cut a notch out of it and get a finishing trip piece to go round where it's cut to make it a bit neater.

As for front breaks the Monte front breaks are identical to VRS fronts witht he VRS having rear disks too, which if you bought the whole rear axle and new handbrake cable ect you could up-grade but ti's not worth it. you could go for some 312 MM breaks up front if you want, others have.

I've gone Elegance to vRS (see build thread in Fabia Projects)

As said, putting a vRS bumper on a Monte will just look odd as the black trim won't continue from the wings

You can order the exhaust tip it comes with some trim it's not a perfect fit on monte diffuser but will go on with some trimming, That's what I did

I've put rear discs on my Monte, and upgraded fronts to 312mm off a Octavia vrs, if your car is a 75 bhp model you wil need front hubs from a early fabia vrs and some calipers and frames off a 312mm equipped golf,Octavia vrs, Audi tt etc

Heres where I got it from theres a few different sizes by the look of them check the descriptions Link
