a few weeks ago, i took my car to for service, that same day they called me and told me that my steering rack, needed to be changed, charging me $1700 dlr, 50,000 on my country`s running money....

Now, i, recently began to check the old steering rack, and disassemlbed it, and i didnt find anything bent, broke or leaking!!..... is there some way to test if it is defective??

Power steering rack?

If so, then it is likely to have been leaking oil out of the rubber boots at the end, or they have maybe ripped you off?
