One touch windows strange behaviour

Featured Replies

From the driver's controls, one touch works on all four for going up, but only on the driver's side front and rear for going down. I've done the reset through the driver controls by holding up till the second click and tried the key in the lock method too.

Any thoughts on what I can try next?

The reset via the window switches can take a few attempts, try it again.

Have you opened and closed the windows by pressing and holding the keyfob buttons?

Thanks for the reply. I've tried resetting with the buttons several times. One touch down works from the passenger side front and rear door controls though. I've tried using the keyfob button and it's only the driver's window which comes down.

Is there something on VCDS I need to fix? This seems to have started since I changed the battery...

Any other ideas, guys?

It could be faulty switches in the drivers door.

I am not sure how you can test this as I don't think they are interchangeable between the doors or positions. I could be wrong though

Worth taking it apart and cleaning, if it's possible?

If you have a multimeter check the voltage on both sides of the switch. Or see if you can swap the switches between positions. As you know two work fully and two only work one way. If you move a working switch to a position that didn't work previously and it now works

Two new switches will be required.

Before you take it to bits though. Try the step Silver posted above - press and hold the door unlock button and see if all 4 windows go down. If they don't there's a bigger issue.

If you post results of that simple test someone more knowledgeable than myself may be able to offer some more guidance

Thanks so much for your time....checking voltages etc is something I clearly didn't think about!

When holding the unlock button, only the driver's window comes down, not the driver side rear as well.

One touch down and up works from the passenger front door and rear door switch...that's why I'm thinking the problem is the two switches on the driver's door?

If all 4 windows are not going down when you hold the unlock button on the key.

It sounds like there's a problem with the comfort window package (I think that's what it's called)

Check the switches but there could be a different problem.

I do not what controls the comfort windows as I am very new to the skoda world.

Maybe someone much more knowledgeable can provide further information.

Hope you manage to get it sorted
