Monte Carlo 105 Remaps

Featured Replies

Hey guys im new to this site so hoping to become a part of the community.

Anyway cutting to the chase.

I have owned my 1.2 Petrol Monte Carlo 105 for a few month now and today I had it remapped by a local company named DarkSlide Automotives. After having it remapped I had driven around 3 mile and watched the consumption on the computer trip go from 165 miles to 150. And that was driving economically keeping the revs below 2k. I later tested the power and can ofc feel the improvement but im more concerned about the fuel consumption, i knew it would increase but not by that amount, that is a significant increase.

Thing is im just worried that essentially its going to cost me a massive amount more in fuel, i understand that the increase was expected but not as extreme.

Welcome to the forum.

Best just go refill your fuel tank, zero your miles, average etc, and see what things are compared to before.

No need for it to use more fuel unless you keep booting it to confirm the Remap was worth getting.

have fun.

I wouldn't worry what the computer says , there will not be much difference in fuel consumption driven normally

Yeh i mean realistically I hadnt booted the car on, still havent really tested the power out fully but must have only driven 12 miles and it done a full line on the petrol gauge. Dont get me wrong the garage said it may take a few miles or so for the map to settle in and if im having problems just to let them know but ofc this is the first time iv mapped a car and just got overly worried haha!

Thanks for the welcome :)

Just out of the curiosity how much was this remap?

The remap does not take a few miles to settle in.

Anything else done, air filter checked, spark plugs, running Super Unleaded?

Your car was sitting running probably and covering no miles,

ie Zero miles per gallon.

Now the range might change due to that.

I didnt watch the guy actually do the remap so unsure on air filter and plugs but filled up at a morrisons garage as was closest at that moment and had 5 miles left so didnt really have a choice lol

Can i ask how much the Remap was?

Tell us about your car a little.

How many miles has it done before you got the remap.

Just have a look at the air filter yourself to be sure it is a nice clean one.
