Want to change insurer to save money

Featured Replies

My car insurance is due 22 Feb got a good price from Direct Line but noticed they want to use their own repairers with a 5 year repair guarantee will this affect the Skoda Warranty. Had an online chat with agent he suggested checking with Skoda. It my first new car in 20 yrs so would appreciate any advice if this would affect the manufacturers warranty I imagine most insurerers don't want to pay main dealer prices Joe

I thought you don't have to use the preferred repairer. Skoda Ensurance will manage any accident you have and make sure your car is repaired in accordance to Skodas guidelines regardless of your insurance. Did you set this up when you collected your car?

Hi,

If you'd like a quotation from an alternative company please feel free to drop me a line. I'd be only too pleased to try and help.

Regards,

Dan.

No chance id be using their repairers.

Id want to chose a local company myself with a good reputation.

Is it Direct Line that have that advert on TV about paying the customer if the car isnt back to them in 7 days?

They cannot by law force you to use their repairers. They can however withhold additional benefits (like a hire car through them, though your body shop will likely give one to you anyway) if you don't.

Spot on Huskoda, you can go anyway but you won't get a free of charge courtesy car, you may have to pay to get a car from your preferred repairer and the likely hood is your insurer won't cover it on your policy.

Skoda Ensurance is the same as any other claims management company in that they'll only take up the case if there's a third party they can claim their costs back from, if it's your fault then you're on your own.
