1.9 tdi red stop oil press warning

Featured Replies

Just purchased 2010 Fabia 1.9 tdi estate, which within a day started flashing the stop oil warning, this lasted around three seconds then went off. On checking the oil level it was fine. I returned the car to the dealer and they replaced the oil filter (car recently serviced and belt changed). After getting the car back I took it for a spin and after around ten miles the problem returned, with the warning light coming on for a short period of time on four occasions. The engine sounds perfectly fine and has been returned to the dealer who have sent it to a skoda dealership.

Any ideas anyone?

Sounds most likely a sensor issue. Did the garage scan it?

A scan won't pick up a fault with the oil pressure switch, it's not controlled by the ECU.

Some engines will display faults due to low oil pressure. Can't think of any on the 1.9 however.

Thanks for the quick reply. Unsure if it was scanned at all, is now with skoda dealer - still waiting on an answer.
