Finally got round to buying a VRS!

So.... 5 and a half years since I initially joined the forum (http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/207402-funny-thing-is-i-havent-quite-got-round-to-buying-a-skoda-yet/), I've finally got myself a tidy MK2 VRS.

 

After opting against a Mk1 VRS back in 2011, I got a Bora TDi 150, before my B5 S4 Avant which I have had for nearly 4 years, soon to be up for sale. The S4 is getting on a bit now, more and more niggles appearing so made the decision that it really needs to go. And partly because wor lass hates it. Finally took the plunge on Sunday night and bought myself a 58 plate Octavia VRS hatch in race blue. I really wanted an estate but this hatch was too much of a bargain to ignore.

 

Must admit I initially was having doubts on the drive back from picking it up, because it just didn't seem to have as much of a sense of occasion to it like the S4 does and only 2/3 of the power. Though having lived with it for a couple of days now on the commute to and from work, it's much more relaxing and comfortable than the S4, also having a Parrot kit fitted which is always useful. I'm sure I'll learn to love it more as time passes. In an ideal world I'd keep both cars but house renovations and impending doom wedding in the summer mean sadly I just can't afford it.
