Weekend Cleaning

Featured Replies

Having owned sheds for the past ten year that have only been cleaned in forecourt car washes, however I am due to collect the keys for our new shiny black Octavia and want to give it the care and treatment it deserves.

I am after recommendations for a complete cleaning package for the outside of my new car, I have read about snow foam, wax/polish etc but to be totally honest there are so many products out there I am starting to get confused and bewildered.

Will be very grateful for advice and recommendations to wheel cleaner, shampoo, wax, polish and that snow foam (looks great) as its been years since I have given a car a good wash. Have been looking on Halfords but my basket is ever growing!

Thank you

In fairness, it's endless when you look at all products. As Andy has posted the link to another thread, there's some good mentions on there.

E.g The Autobrite starter kit - Clean your ride sample packs -

Krystal Kleen Detail is getting some fantastic support, they have a product for pretty much every step & is great value for money.

Hope we can help you.

Karl.

Thanks Chaps!

I'm in the same position. Collecting my new Superb next week and will be first new car. Same as you all my previous have been sheds and gone through cheap car washes every few months.

I've spent lots of time on the different forums, read reviews and still not a 100% on what I'm doing.

So far I've bought

Maguiar wash and wax

Maguiar liquid wax

Maguiar tyre conditioner

(They came as a set with all cloths and appicators plus drying towel from halfords. Last box on the shelf held together with bodge tape so asked manager what his best price was and got it for £10.50. Too good a bargain to miss).

Faracela G3 Clay Mit and G3 Detailer.

I'm hoping the above will get me started (I'm always on a budget) but not sure about wheel cleaners/sealants. After nearly 20 years of driving it's will be my first car with alloys. Always had cheap and nasty trims o steel wheels.

I was in your position not too long ago, they are so many options to choose from. I used the Swissvax discovery kit, I managed to get a good deal from a company called Ultimate Finish, they have lots of different types of kits I recommend you take a look
