Uneven ride height

Recommended Posts

Wondering if this is a normal situation or not ?

Yesterday I noticed that the o/s rear of my mk2 face lift estate was lower than usual so I suspected a broken spring.

Sure enough the spring on that corner had snapped right near the bottom so I have spent an hour today and replaced

both rear springs, this has raised the ride height on both sides  but the o/s is still slightly lower by maybe 15mm.

All of the rubbers are present and in good condition and both front springs look fine, I assume that is should be level side to side but should it ?

Any ideas folks ?

I assume you checked both springs before fitting to ensure they were same and the supplier hasn't given you a mismatched pair for spring rate or length. A quick drive around also settles the suspension if you haven't done so already.

Yes both checked and have the same part number etc and still the same after 50 miles or so. If I can't work out what is going on I

will swap the springs side to side and see what happens.
