3c8...E Bluetooth advice

Featured Replies

Premium Bluetooth kits like the one you linked need maxidot to function correctly.

On the panel between the speedo and the tacho does it show an outline of the car with a door open as you get in? If it does the you have maxidot.

An autoscan from VCDS would be great if you have one.

I have buyed the same and i m waiting to receive and install it. I have octavia 2 fl with swing rcd, maxidot and steering control buttons.

Hi langers, sorry forgot to mention I do have maxi dot. Would it be plug and play or would vcds be needed to get it functioning properly?

Sindibade, let me know how you get on, be very interested to see how you get on. Would you be fitting it yourself? What is swing rcd?

Cheers guys!

It'll probably just work but of course depends how the car and module have been set up previously. If you have problems I'm sure a local member can help with VCDS.

If this is going in a 2010 car the maxidot software is unlikely to support some of the icons used by the newer Bluetooth module. It doesn't effect functionality but means you'll end up with some empty squares on the maxidot where you'd expect a 3g or WiFi symbol.

Hmmm it's a 2010....

The 3C8 D/E modules are a few years newer than your car so it'll probably look like one of the following:

When it should look like:

As I say, there is no functional difference but just something to be aware of.

I think I can live with that. Far better than no Bluetooth. Thanks for the help!
